In 1994 Marvel and Fleer joined forces to create the first superhero trading cards featuring digital artwork. I was commissioned by Marvel to create 18 full color digital paintings from classic black & white artwork selected from the archives. The Quantel Graphic Paintbox suite at HBO Studio Productions in New York was the most powerful digital paint system available at the time. I also created one entirely original painting of Phoenix for the series.
